Description of your issue, suggested solution and other information. i have been using youtube-dl to download from bbc's iplayer for a while. about three days ago it stopped working. instead of the expected show-name.mp4 and show-name.en.srt files i get long, complicated filenames with extensions like .part, .part-frag1, .ytdl, .temp.mp4, and no extension.. The youtube-dl (about march 2017 version) seems to concatenate on partial downloads without using any special option. i verified this twice. i had about 12% downloaded (in many fragment files) and then closed the command window.. I have a moto g5 and had a problem with iplayer failing to download programmes. my phone has an sd card adopted as internal storage running android 7.0: the fix in my case was to move the bbc iplayer app (which by default installs to the sd card external storage) to internal storage..
